Volunteers Needed!
There are many ways for volunteers to get involved at the Global Gathering Place.
Program Assistants and Facilitators
The Global Gathering Place offers a variety of programs, many of which benefit from having volunteers. Talk to our staff about becoming an assistant on a regular basis for the CHEF, Coffee and Conversation, Children’s Program, Homework Help, Life Skills, BrightStart!, or Family, Fun, and Fit.
Offer newcomers one-on-one support
Help newcomers improve their reading and writing skills one-on-one or in small groups. Many of our newcomers could also use the advice and wisdom of local residents as they search for their first job in Canada.

Planning special events
If you would prefer to make a once per year short-term commitment, our ethnic suppers, annual garage sale, or annual fundraising dinner may be a volunteer commitment for you! These events always require energetic people to assist with planning.
Public Awareness
If you like to speak to small or large groups, update websites, create advertising material, write articles, produce annual reports, or staff booths at trade shows, the Global Gathering Place needs your enthusiasm and marketing skills!
Global Gathering Place offers training and a friendly group of people to work with. Simply contact the office and make an appointment if you are interested in volunteering.
